Thirty years of unity, one face: Arte Magazin dedicates its cover story on German reunification to Katarina Witt, in warm colour on the cover and powerful black and white inside. With such a familiar face, authenticity matters more than perfection. We finely balanced skin tones and light, deliberately preserved character and expression, and gave the black-and-white version a rich tonal range.
